As a customer of Hempfield Water Authority, you were notified on April 30, 2025 of a problem with our drinking water and were advised to not to give to infants under 6 months of age and if you had underlying health issues. We are pleased to report that the problem has been corrected and that it is no longer necessary to restrict the use of the water and is safe to use for everyday consumption. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience. The Water Authority is not using the well with the high nitrates. We are adding water from our high-pressure system to making up the difference. We are currently working on a long term solution to lower the nitrates in the effected well.
